Lecture: Paving the transition - Herding <stroke>unicorns</stroke> VMs on Kubernetes
After this session you should be able to have an idea of how VMs can be run on a Kubernetes cluster.
Virtual Machines have been around for some time, as they pass by we tend to greet them like an old friend. We know all their hiccups and odd habits.
And times are changing; VMs are not the only form factor anymore when it comes to containing workloads, the new way of containing workloads are containers.
Now, what can be done to ease the migration of the existing VM workloads to this brand new world of containers? And - does it actually make sense in all cases?
In this presentation we’ll see how you can run VMs on top Kubernetes - a well known cluster manager for containers. This enables us to run VMs and containers on the same infrastructure - which in turn can support a migration from one form factor to the other.
